ALANYA CASTLE

Alanya Castle, whose ramparts are about 6.5 kilometers long, is on the peninsula 250 meter high above the sea. The settlement on Alanya peninsula, which is also known as "Kandeleri", not only dates back to hellenistic era but also reflects the 13. century as a Seljukian site. The castle was built by Seljukian Sultan Alaaddin Keykubat, who reconstructed Alanya when he conquered it in 1221. The castle has 83 towers and 140 bastions. There are nearly 400 cisterns made for fulfilling the water need of town which was inside the castle in medieval ages. Some of these cisterns are still in use.

RED TOWER

This is an octagonal building inherited from Seljukians of 13. century as well as the symbol of Alanya. It is named as Kızılkule due to its upper parts' being made of fired red bricks because of the difficulty of lifting stone blocks to higher parts. The tower, which was set against raids coming from the sea to protect the port and navy yard, has been used for military purposes for centuries.

There is a 50 meters long passage along the entrance of the cave which is located on the west coasts of the historical peninsula. After the passage, whose height is about 15 meters, there is a cylindrical space through which you enter the cave. Stalactites and dickites of the cave, remaining close to semi-crystallized calcareous layers, have formed in 15 thousand years. The cave is famous not only for its captivating beauty but also its air that is good for those who has asthma. The air never changes whether it is summer or winter; it is always 22 C° hot, moisture is %95 and constant pressure is 760 mm.

SAPADERE CANYON

Sapadere Canyon, which has become a mecca for those who want to get rid of Alanya's summer heats and freshen themselves, is literally a wonder of nature that worths visiting.Sapadere Canyon is 750 metres long, nearly 400 metres high and is located near Sapadere village. Sapadere Canyon has been a spectacular tourism site thanks to some projects, one of which is the path for walking, located on the point from which Sapadere Brook starts of the canyon, with steel bricks shoring it up and the other ones of which are picnic areas, village taverns and suchlike investments. The canyon is 40 kilometers away from Alanya and you can easily reach by going through Demirtaş village's tarmac.

DAMLATAŞ BEACH

It is the beach in front of Damlataş Cave, on the west of the historical peninsula. It is blue flagged. The sea and beach are sandy. The beach leans its borders to the skirts of the peninsula. According to a legend, Egyptian Queen Cleopatra swimmed here in this bay when she visited Alanya during a military expedition to the Mediterranean region. Cleopatra Bay's speciality is its waters' serenity.

KLEOPATRA BEACH

It is a part of Damlataş Beach and approximately 2 kilometers long. It is blue flagged. The sea and beach are sandy. It is quite wide. The depth of the sea is as long as a human's length after 3-4 steps away from the coast. It is the most popular beach of Alanya. It hosts tens of thousands of people in summers. The sunset is a majestic view to see there.
